FEBRUARY 2009

Sue Cesarini
Oils
Portraits
21st and 22nd February, 2009
(This was very successful look out for the next one)

Susan enjoys painting from life, believing that the freshness and spontaneity
of an 'all
prima' portrait or still life painting is often more exciting than a
perfect photographic likeness. She works in oils,
using lively brush strokes
and rich, luminous colour tocreate a powerful impression of the subject.
She
has won many prizes with regular firsts in portaiture and still life at local and
 national
competitions. Susan is an associate of the Royal Art Society of NSW
and an exhibition member of
Portrait Artist Australia. In 2005 she exhibited at
the Australian Embassy Gallery in Washington as
part of the first Portait
Artists Australia International Exhibition.

Paint a fresh, lively impression from life, with free brushstrokes and simple
 colour mixes from limited
palette. We'll look at basics of composition, shape,
colour, tone, drawing and anatomy, in order to
achieve a reasonable likeness
and a sound painting.

Some oil painting experience would be an advantage.
